The Giro Competizione blends luxurious comfort with plenty of performance technology so youll enjoy every hour of a long ride in the mountains and gain an aerodynamic benefit in the process.
Using materials developed through Castelli's extensive Free Aero Race 4 Short R&D, the Giro Competizione benefits from countless hours in the wind tunnel and on the road with team Ineos riders.
The main leg uses Castelli's exclusive Vortex BLC textured fabric to help create a thin layer of turbulent air, decreasing drag. The Giro4 leg grippers have been honed over four generations of shorts to provide a stitch-free raw hem while vertical silicone stripes keep the legs in place without constriction.
The inside of the legs are made from Affinity Pro lycra. This gives multi-dimensional stretch to support your legs as they move without disrupting your pedalling motion.
The all-important pad is Castelli's tried and tested KISS Air2. Super smooth and with plenty of comfort, its a little more compact than the Progetto X2 air seamless found on the Free Aero Race 4. It's a favourite of some team Ineos riders, triathletes regularly riding in the aero position and those who dont require the extra density offered by the Progetto.
Flatlock stitching and mesh straps aid comfort while the reflective detailing on the back of the legs aids visibility in low light conditions.
The Giro d'Italia wordmark is featured in classic white on the outsides of the legs and just above the pad at the rear complete with cyclist logo. The Giro4 grippers also feature a striped motif that echoes the design of the Giro103 Race Jersey and Giro103 Competizione Jersey.
